Agreement to Terms
By using Snapzy, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use the app.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Snapzy, a macOS screenshot and screen recording application developed by Snapzy ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Snapzy, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Snapzy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
License Grant
You get a non-transferable license to use Snapzy on your devices. One license per device.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Snapzy on macOS devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. Each license is valid for one device unless your subscription or purchase specifies otherwise.
You may not sublicense, rent, lease, or distribute Snapzy. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
User Content & Ownership
You own everything you create with Snapzy — screenshots, recordings, annotations. We never claim ownership of your content.
All content you create using Snapzy — including screenshots, screen recordings, annotations, and OCR-extracted text — remains your property. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and share any content, including respecting copyright laws and obtaining consent where required by applicable recording laws.
Permissions & System Access
Snapzy needs Screen Recording and optionally Microphone permissions to function. You control these in macOS System Settings.
Snapzy requires the following macOS permissions to function:
- Screen Recording — Required to capture screenshots and record your screen via ScreenCaptureKit.
- Microphone — Optional, needed only when recording audio alongside screen capture.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time via System Settings > Privacy & Security. Snapzy does not access any data beyond what these permissions explicitly allow.
Data Handling
Your data stays on your device by default. Nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly share it.
Snapzy is designed with a privacy-first approach. All screenshots, recordings, annotations, and OCR text are stored locally on your Mac. No data is uploaded to any server unless you explicitly use the sharing feature.
Snapzy uses the Sparkle framework for automatic update checks, which transmits your app version, macOS version, and IP address to check for available updates.
Subscription & Payment
Choose monthly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase. Refunds available within 7 working days.
Snapzy offers two pricing options: a monthly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. Each license is per device.
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 working days of purchase. To request a refund, contact us at support@snapzy.app.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
Intellectual Property
Snapzy's code, design, and branding belong to us. Your content belongs to you.
Snapzy, including its code, user interface, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Snapzy. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission.
The Snapzy application source code is licensed under the MIT License. This license applies to the code only and does not override these Terms of Service for usage rights.
Warranty Disclaimers
Snapzy is provided 'as is'. We do our best but can't guarantee it will be error-free.
Snapzy is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that recordings will be error-free, that data loss will not occur, or that the application will be compatible with all future macOS versions. OCR text recognition accuracy is not guaranteed.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for Snapzy. We're not liable for indirect damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Snapzy's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the application in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or failed recordings due to system issues.
Termination
We can terminate your license if you violate these terms. You can stop using Snapzy at any time.
Your license to use Snapzy terminates automatically if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use and destroy any copies of the application.
You may terminate your use of Snapzy at any time by uninstalling the application. For subscriptions, cancellation stops future charges but does not retroactively refund past payments.
Updates & Changes
We release updates via the Sparkle framework. Major changes to these terms will be communicated in advance.
Snapzy checks for updates automatically and optionally via the Sparkle update framework. You may also manually check for updates within the app. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security patches.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or our website. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam and the United States.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If no resolution is reached, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
