Updates & Diagnostics
Keep Snapzy up to date with Sparkle, report issues with log bundles, and manage local cache.
In-App Updates
Snapzy uses Sparkle to check for new versions. It performs a lightweight HTTPS call to see if a newer release is available.
- Checks happen automatically on launch.
- You can also trigger a manual check from Snapzy → Check for Updates.
- Updates are downloaded and installed in the background, then applied on next launch.
Privacy — update checks send no usage data or identifiers. Only the current version number is included in the request.
Problem Reporting
If you run into a bug, Snapzy can generate a diagnostic log bundle to help maintainers reproduce the issue.
- Open Snapzy → Report a Problem to create a log bundle.
- Logs include app state and recent errors, but never your captures or screen content.
- Attach the bundle to a GitHub issue or share it in Discord.
Cache Management
Snapzy stores temporary captures, processing files, and thumbnail metadata in Application Support and Caches.
- Temp captures are cleaned up automatically based on your retention policy.
- You can clear cache manually from Snapzy Preferences.
- To fully reset all data, see the Uninstall guide.
